Weighing only 8 ounces, the SkyAir ULT is a sil/sil tarp tent large enough for two men and gear. The pole-free design is pitched with trekking poles in the front and back and stakes around the side. For early season use, you will be hard pressed to find a lighter weight shelter. For bug season use, add the SkyAir Mesh Insert (sold separately), Footprint (sold separately), and Front Vestibule (sold separately) to protect you and your gear from the elements. The versatility the SkyAir provides is unlike anything else you will find in a tarp tent and is the minimalist backcountry hunter’s dream. Expert Insights
The SkyAir ULT is a unique product that is best suited for the "ultralight and ultrafast" crowd. It performs better when used as a minimalist shelter than it does when used to facilitate glassing in poor weather because of its orientation (i.e., the Sky Tarp 10 performs better in the latter use application). But, if you're looking to remain highly mobile throughout the day and intend to make camp in a different location every night, the SkyAir ULT can certainly be relied upon during most early-season climates and weather patterns.
