It’s a summer jersey. In Assos-speak, that’s climarange 1.4. It’s light and breathable. But it’s also durable. The primary fabric is their type.197, which is tougher than their other fabrics, while still providing a nice hand, controlled stretch, and the ability for sweat vapor to pass through. Aiding in the cool factor are the mesh panels stitched in, which can be found on the sides and under the arms.
It fits close, though it’s not the second-skin fit that some Assos jerseys are made for. They call it regularFit, but regular for Assos is sleek compared to other brands. Even with the sleek style, there’s room, or give, for a base layer underneath, which they recommend.
To keep the close fit comfortable and looking good, they designed the jersey around the female form. It looks bold and straightforward, but to get there, they utilized sixteen patterns, twelve components, and four textiles.
Some of the extra fabric and patterning has to do with the support system and pockets. At the top of the pockets is a strip of fabric that goes across the openings. This is a durable textile that’s also reflective. Light hits it and a bar bounces back across the darkness. And to keep your pockets put, even when they’re overflowing, there’s a gripper elastic across the back, which grabs your shorts and stays put. The pocket design is the traditional three-pocket setup, but Assos goes a step further with a fourth pocket, a zippered security pocket, in the middle. This is for your valuables-keys, cash, credit cards.
The Assos SS.capeepicXCJersey_evo7 Lady is because women take to dirt at least as tough as men, if not tougher.
