A little history

There were some nasty, buzzy fuzz pedals made in the mid 1960s. Some best examples are the Mosrite Fuzzrite, Maestro Fuzz Tone, Jordan Bosstone, Kay fuzz, etc. We found some super high gain germanium transistors in late 2006 that could be tuned to get those sounds so we are able to offer these pedals, which we named the PEPPERMINT FUZZ in tribute to the song INCENSE AND PEPPERMINTS which features this very sound. It can also be used for some later punk rock sounds like the Stooges, etc. It can also do a decent late 60s Fuzzface sound if dialed in properly, and can get close to the oldest 2 knob TONE BENDER pedals (MK-I and MK-II).

All Peppermint fuzz pedals have always been hand made in the USA.

Features

The PEPPERMINT FUZZ is similar to a fuzzface in architecture but has specific tweeks to make it more flexible and sound much crazier.

  1. True bypass on / off switch, no loss of tone when off.
  2. Battery disconnected when INPUT cable is removed. (input is on the right).
  3. Power jack is now optional, but you cannot share power with other effects as this pedal is reverse polarity. If you share a power supply with a normal pedal (negative ground), you will destroy the power supply. This means you can't use a daisy chain or a power supply with only one output. The PedalPower2 has all isolated outputs so that one would be safe. More info at http://www.analogman.com/fuzzface.htm#power
  4. Battery should be a cheap non-alkaline general purpose battery, as found in dollar stores. These sound better than an alkaline in this pedal, and even a cheap battery will last years since there is no LED.
  5. For best sound, this effect should not have any buffers or non-true bypass effects between it and the guitar. But you can try other pedals before it for various effects.
  6. Volume Knob (on the left) needs no explanation. Should be able to get nice and loud to kick up your amp.
  7. Fuzz knob (on the right): Best to keep it up almost all the way up for craziest sounds. Turn it down for more normal fuzzface tones.
  8. BUZZ knob: the knob in the center of the pedal. This allows controlling the sound of the fuzz from weak to hard edged fuzz. You can turn it down to get a warmer looser fuzz sound which can sometimes be useful. Turning it up gets louder and harder, good for Neil Young sounds. You may find you need to turn it down a bit (CCW) at higher temperatures, and up (CW) at lower temperatures. For standard fuzzface tones turn the BUZZ knob down a bit along with the FUZZ knob.
  9. DOES NOT really clean up when you back down your guitar like our Sunface fuzz. But turning the guitar down some makes it cut better by removing some sustain and low end, makes it a little more jangly if that makes any sense. For example I will play some chords with the volume up high, then back it off a bit for some lead licks.
  10. There is a trimpot inside the pedal that allows it to work at various temperatures, and for different sounds. It is a blue square thing with a white center with a screwdriver slot. Use a tiny screwdriver to gently turn the white center part. Set it by plugging a guitar straight into the pedal, and turning fuzz and vol knobs up all the way. Then set the BUZZ knob depending on what sounds you want. For normal fuzz sounds, turn the BUZZ knob all the way down. For more buzzy, gated sounds, like a Sitar, turn the BUZZ knob to about 12:00. Turn the trimpot fully CCW (counter clockwise) and the sound should stop (gated). Then without playing the guitar, turn the trimpot clockwise to find the spot where the ambient noise from the guitar starts to come through. This setting changes depending on temperature and buzz knob setting. Try various trimpot settings to get different sounds.
  11. For Sitar like sounds, turn the fuzz knob up all the way then back the guitar down until the sustain dies (usually a few numbers on a standard strat type guitar). BUZZ knob setting will depend on trimpot setting.
  12. Optional ON/OFF fuzz pot: turning the FUZZ knob all the way down will click and disconnect the battery. This is useful if you run in a tight pedalboard where there is no room to pull out the input cable to disconnect the battery when you are done playing. This is available on side jacks only.
  13. Optional ON/OFF mini toggle is available on the top jacks model to disconnect the battery.
  14. SIZE : 2 5/16" x 4 5/16", MXR size 1290 or 1590B enclosure.

real leather, comfortable, size up 1/2 size to avoid the breaking in process, its beautifully made!
Size: 10.5, Color: Medium Natural Nubuck
They fit perfectly. They are the best pair of shoes My husband's ever wore! the smell of that new leather is incredible. It is real leather, not imitation leather. It's a little tight across the top portion of his foot right before his toes start, but I believe that can be stretched out, they just have to be broken in. they are so classy and snazzy. The front of the toe part is a little darker than the rest. But it Kind of blends in fades into the rest of the leather. It will scratch easily. So you have to be careful, it's real leather. It's soft but not like felt soft and its shiny. This is the kind of shoe you actually need The old school shoe Polish in a buffer cloth. I didn't think that we would like or he would like the white soul but it does not look bad like I thought it would be. It does not stand out. It blends right in perfectly with the shoe. Any of their color would have not matched. If you're on the fence about this nice dress, you don't be. this name Shoe actually lives up to its reputation. It was incredible and no, I'm not just saying that. if it sucked, I would say so. it's a great shoe in every way. It has a cushioned soft leather insole. It's a little thinner piece of velour feeling leather In the instep. It is such a great shoe definitely worth the purchase. The size does fit. He wears a 10 and a 1/2. That's what we got, and that fits perfectly. I think he could have gotten 11 and got away with it, so he wouldn't have to break the top portion in. But there's plenty of toe room, it's just where your outer edge of your foot an the bone, right before your big toe, so like I said, right across the widest portion of your foot needs to be stretched out broken in. once he breaks that in the shoe fits perfectly. so you can size up half a size you probably can get away with it, just fine God bless!

High quality comfortable shoes from Rockport
Size: 13 Wide, Color: Grey Nubuck, Size: 13 Wide, Color: Grey Nubuck
I've been a fan of Rockport shoes since buying my first pair in the 1980's. I actually still have that pair and had them resoled once. This shoe has the style and profile of a dress shoe but is finished in a nice smooth suede-like grey color. Typical of Rockport shoes, they are flexible and lightweight. The upper is genuine leather, something getting harder to find in reasonably priced quality shoes. That should make these more durable than artificial leather. The insole is sculpted and soft with just a bit of memory foam padding with good arch support. They are removable and I assume replaceable. The soles are flexible and grippy, and the heel is low and comfortable. I ordered my usual size, 13W and they fit well, just a tiny bit tight on the top where they lace if wearing thick socks until they stretch a bit. Due to the shape of the toe box they look a little long, but there is plenty of toe space. These were very comfortable, true to size, well made and very nice looking shoes. I expect them to be durable and last a long time as all of my other Rockport shoes have in the past. These would look great with jeans or khaki's or even with more dressy clothing, they can be casual or dressy. Even though these are well made and genuine leather with Rockport's reputation for comfort and quality they cost less than many sneakers.

Rockport makes great shoe wear
Size: 11.5 Wide, Color: Dark Taupe Suede
I have owned Rockport shoes before and this pair lives up to the brand’s reputation for comfort. Right out of the box they felt broken in with very little adjustment period. The genuine leather upper looks nice and gives the shoe a more polished appearance than many casual options while still being comfortable enough for daily wear. The cushioning is one of the strongest features. The truTECH system does a good job absorbing impact and provides noticeable comfort during long days on my feet. The removable insoles add versatility and make it easy to customize the fit or use orthotics if needed. The quality appears very good with clean stitching and solid construction throughout. The leather feels durable and should age well with normal use. Ease of use is excellent since they slip on easily and require very little maintenance beyond occasional cleaning and conditioning. Size was accurate for me and the availability of different widths is a major advantage. Compatibility with different foot shapes is often overlooked but Rockport does a good job here. Value for money is strong considering the comfort quality and durability. Overall these are comfortable well-made shoes that work equally well for the office casual outings or everyday wear.

So Comfortable!
Size: 10.5, Color: Dark Taupe Suede, Size: 10.5, Color: Dark Taupe Suede
These are easily some of the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever owned. From the first time I put them on, they felt broken in and required very little adjustment. The fit is excellent, providing plenty of room in the toe box without squeezing or cramping my toes on the sides, which is often a problem with dress shoes. The suede is soft, supple, and feels like a quality material rather than the stiff suede found on many lower-priced shoes. The craftsmanship appears solid, and the shoes have a refined look that works well for both business and casual occasions. They are true to size and fit exactly as expected. I was also pleasantly surprised by how lightweight they feel while still offering good support throughout the day. Based on the quality of the suede and construction, I expect them to hold up well over time. The suede is soft enough to be comfortable but seems durable enough to handle occasional rain and everyday wear.
