These stakes have a 50 cm cord attached where the stakes are dug horisontal into the snow/ sand. They will then provide an optimal grip to secure your tent firmly to the surface.

A tent peg should be strong, endure a lot of stress, but at the same time be somewhat flexible so that it bends instead of breaking straight by too much stress.
