The bark or cortex is used to cure bruises and as a vermicide. The seeds are used as food for wildlife, and the sweetly-scented flowers are a good nectar source for honeybees. The Mimosa Tree has been found to possess antidepressant properties. It makes an excellent shade tree and also a wonderful bonsai specimen. It also attracts bees, butterflies, and birds including HUMMINGBIRDS.
