This Chinese hybrid of Lycoris chinensis x Lycoris longituba is a superb garden performer with excellent winter hardiness. The sturdy, upright, 2' tall flowering stalks emerge in early September (NC) with large, light butter yellow flowers that contrast nicely with the fleshy pink buds. The foliage on Lycoris x caldwellii doesn't emerge
It's taken us fifteen years to build up enough stock of Lycoris x caldwellii 'Sky Over Sky' to have enough to share. This Chinese hybrid of Lycoris chinensis x Lycoris longituba is a superb garden performer with excellent winter hardiness. The sturdy, upright, 2' tall flowering stalks emerge in early September (NC) with large, light butter-yellow flowers that contrast nicely with the fleshy pink buds. The foliage on Lycoris x caldwellii doesn't emerge until late February for us, and emerges even later in colder climates, preventing it from getting damaged in winter.
