Built in the mid-'90s, the Centaur became instantly lauded for its transparency and ability to push an amp's natural overdrive into new sonic terrain, one that really jumps out of the mix with ease. For best results, play it though an amp that's already slightly breaking up to get your amp to really sing.
Featuring three simple, intuitive controls - Gain, Treble, and Output - it's easy dial in exactly what you want. Treat it as a straightforward overdrive pedal with a particularly good mid boost and subtle compression, or use it as a clean boost for added tonal emphasis. It also has a charge pump circuit that doubles the voltage for increased and improved headroom. Here in Very Good condition, it has some light wear, but it sounds absolutely incredible - and does everything it's supposed to, brilliantly.
