The JHS Morning Glory has amassed quite a reputation through multiple design generations and acclaim from the (many) transparent overdrive fiends of the world. Hearkening to classic Bluesbreaker overdrive effects, the Morning Glory's principle tone is designed for elevated playability, outstanding touch response and clarity, and a helping dose of oomph for ravenous tube amps.

This new version comes at the heels of a conversation between JHS Pedals founder Josh Scott and jazz guitarist Julian Lage. The guitarist, known for his pristine balances of tube warmth and sparkly, single-coil clarity, inspired Scott to take his classic transparent overdrive back to the drawing board for a foundational, yet now retrospective no-brainer, revision: A clean blend control.

At the heart of the Morning Glory Clean is an ultra-high headroom overdrive, as you'd hear in other Morning Glory versions. Though of course, JHS did not just slap a clean blend control on the Morning Glory circuit and call it a day, this Morning Glory circuit was in fact designed the other way around, after a premium, studio-grade parallel clean blend.

This clean blend utilizes a dual-gang potentiometer that scales proportionately with the driven signal – as dictated by the Drive knob. Here, the two signals, your affected and unaffected, play harmoniously with no unexpected jumps in volume, phase issues, or anything of that sort.
