Pickering’ mango is likely a seedling of ‘Carrie’ from Lawrence Zill’s mango grove. The variety was selected by Walter Zill and named for mango enthusiast Wayne Pickering. 

Pickering tastes like Pina Colada! It is a condo mango that has everything for those with limited space and is great for container growing. It has a bushy, compact growth habit and can be maintained under six feet in a container. The fruit has firm flesh with a fantastic coconut/mango flavor and no objectionable fiber. 

All aspects considered, Pickering is probably the best container growing mango tree available. It is a very productive and pretty tree from an early age.
