The Wahcko, JAM's celebrated proprietary wah effect, has found itself at the feet of today's wildest wah wizards and witches. This classic filter effect drops in with a customized design built from the ground up for those who cannot help but weep when it comes to their classic, psychedelic, funky, modulations.
Wah, a truly established institution in effect pedals championed by so many legendary guitarists, might not always get the praise it deserves. JAM actively rectifies such snubbing with the Wahcko. The Wahcko starts with a classic Fasel RED inductor that plays with a warm yet shimmery vintage-style tone à la your favorite wahs of decades past. From there, the experience evolves with carbon-comp resistors and a buffer-less proprietary circuit meant specifically to accommodate impedance-sensitive pedals downstream from the Wahcko (Think heavy germanium fuzz). The Wahcko is outfitted to slip seamlessly into your rig and play nicely with the rest of your pedals. For many, the wah is an indispensable member of the family – and who are JAM to deny them that?
The Wahcko delivers a classic yet modern and friendly wah experience. However, it goes further with a number of options for playability and customization. Most prominently, a six-way rotary switch allows for easy swaps between different frequency ranges, meaning the Wahcko has plenty of tonal routes to take sweeping heel to toe. This added sonic flavor can then be shaped with an internal trimmer that adjusts input gain to tailor your wah experience directly to taste. True bypass switching and your standard nine-volt center negative power requirements mean the Wahcko is ready for action the moment you click its toe.
