Beginner-Friendly Kids Summer Surf Camps (Ages 5-15)

Everyday California has been in the surf industry since 2010. Our San Diego surf camps are the perfect way for kids to spend a holiday break. Our expert instructors are all certified in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid, and teach the fundamentals of surfing at La Jolla Shores, one of the best locations in the country to learn to surf! Whether you’re brand new to the sport and trying to stand up for the first time, or a more advanced surfer looking to polish your bottom turn techniques, the camp staff will tailor their lessons to match your experience level.

Each day begins with games, a lesson on the sand, and a safety speech before heading into the water to surf. Throughout the camp, kids will learn about surf history, surf etiquette, ocean safety, and the history and marine life of La Jolla’s Marine Protected Area.

Our surf camp is designed for kids aged 5-15 who are able to swim in the ocean. No prior surfing experience or equipment is required.

Do I love it? Yes. Is it well made? It certainly appears to be. Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy. Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous. It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather. I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
