Favero Assioma PRO RS-1 Power Meter Pedals deliver single-sided power measurement in a true road pedal built around Shimano SPD-SL compatibility. The system places the power sensor on the left pedal and calculates total power by doubling left-leg output—an efficient way to bring structured training to any road bike without swapping cranksets or chasing compatibility.

Favero’s sealed power spindle houses the electronics and rechargeable lithium-ion battery, keeping the sensitive components protected and making day-to-day use simple. With an IP67 waterproof rating, temperature compensation, and over 60 hours of runtime per charge, the Assioma PRO RS-1 is designed for consistent data through long training blocks, rough weather, and travel.

The road-specific body is made from carbon-fibre tech-polymers to balance durability and low weight. A low 10.5 mm stack height and standard +53 mm Q-factor help preserve a natural fit and stable pedaling feel, while the clip-in interface remains fully compatible with Shimano SPD-SL cleats (including the included cleats, plus Shimano SM-SH10/11/12).

Assioma PRO RS-1 Specs at a Glance

  • Power measurement: Left-side sensor (total power = left leg × 2).
  • Accuracy: ±1% with IAV (Instantaneous Angular Velocity-based) power calculation; compatible with oval chainrings.
  • Battery: Rechargeable lithium-ion; 60+ hours per charge.
  • Connectivity: ANT+ and Bluetooth (up to 3 simultaneous BLE connections).
  • Sensors: Built-in cadence sensor and gyroscope.
  • Fit & interface: 10.5 mm stack height; +53 mm Q-factor; Shimano SPD-SL cleat compatible.
  • Weather-ready: IP67 waterproof rating; temperature compensation.
  • Weight: Left pedal with power sensor 124.8 g; right pedal without power sensor 123.8 g.
  • Origin & coverage: Made in Italy; 2-year warranty.

Rider-Focused Data, Clean Road Setup

  1. Road pedal feel, power meter precision: A dedicated SPD-SL road body keeps clip-in/clip-out familiar while delivering consistent training data.
  2. Advanced metrics support: Track power and cadence plus detailed insights like PCO, Power Phase, Rider Position, Pedal Smoothness, and Torque Effectiveness when paired with compatible head units/apps.
  3. Durable split architecture: The sealed spindle keeps electronics protected and separates the power sensor from the pedal body for practical serviceability.
  4. Dialed fit & efficiency: Low stack height and a standard road Q-factor help maintain your position while improving stability through hard efforts.
  5. Future flexibility: Modular, interchangeable pedal bodies (road/MTB), with an upgrade path available to dual-sided Assioma PRO RS-2.

Final Take

If you want a straightforward, road-ready entry into pedal-based power, the Assioma PRO RS-1 blends a low-profile SPD-SL platform with reliable accuracy, long battery life, and robust weather sealing. It’s a clean solution for riders who value consistent training data and an easy-to-live-with setup across everyday miles and focused intervals.

This book is the real deal
Format: Paperback
This book is the real deal. I found it to be eye-opening, because, despite sounding very advanced and almost next-level, the attacks accompanied by source code show how simple and effective they are in reality. This book seemed light at first (200 pages), so I was skeptical at it's ability to really tackle advanced topics, but I will say I was very pleasantly surprised. Those two hundred pages are action packed and filled with jaw-dropping 'this is cool' moments. My only gripe with it is that it's a little formulaic, with the social engineering being shoehorned into every attack, and maybe pushing the whole APT thing too much, like when you really want something to become 'a thing'. Do we really need to socially engineer payloads using the same formula for all of the attacks? Not even one 'ha Ked the router with boring Cisco exploits' example? I guess it wouldn't make for an entertaining book.

Best pentest book read to date
Format: Paperback
This is the best penetration testing book that I have ever read to date. There is such a depth of understanding of penetration testing that is conveyed in this book in the way that the author is able to portray highly advanced topics in a conceptually understandable way. A novice might not be able to follow the text, as it is advanced, but for anyone looking to open their mindset up to becoming a more effective penetration tester, I HIGHLY advise this book.

Worth every penny
Format: Paperback
This book is in a class of its own compared to other security and pentesting books. I would highly recommend to anyone interested or currently working in network security. Instead of simply explaining how to use common pentesting tools, Wil Allsopp explains how they work and how to write your own custom tools from the ground up. Even if you do not have a programming background, it is worth understanding how an attacker can infiltrate a "secure" network without being detected.

They aren't using crappy malware, so if you're InfoSec program is built ...
Format: Paperback
Bought yesterday, can't put it down -- will reread it again this week. This book is a solid gold mine on pulling our InfoSec heads out of our InfoSec tailpipes and focusing on the modes and methods our real adversaries are using. (Pro Tip: They aren't using crappy malware, so if you're InfoSec program is built on stopping malware you should be concerned.) We all hear about the social engineering component to an effective attack, but to see it so effectively used over and over again with Wil's case studies really drives home the point. If you're involved in either the management of an Information Security program, or involved in the more tactical parts of penetration testing, I'd put this on your short list of books to read this year. I hope he does a follow-up.
